In a major breakthrough, the Puri Police have arrested four individuals linked to the robbery of Radha Krushna Jewellery in Chandanpur. The robbery, which occurred on the night of November 20, 2025, involved the theft of valuables worth several crores.
The arrested accused are:
Tukula @ Tuku Nayak – Owner of Nilakantha Jewellery, Bira Narasinghpur, Chandanpur, Puri
Bapi @ Prasant Pradhan – Hotel employee at Puri Bay Premium, originally from Banapur, Khordha
M. Goutham – Resident of Vishakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh
Subhrajit Mohanty (22) – MBA student at Srusti Academy of Management, Bhubaneswar, from Balasore
During a press briefing, Dr. Satyajit Naik, DIG, Central Range, Cuttack, and Puri SP Prateek Singh commended the police team for recovering the stolen items. Authorities seized:
8 gold necklaces (132 grams)
31 kg silver ornaments
Rs6 lakh cash
1 Skoda car
1 pistol with 2 live rounds
The robbery took place at approximately 9:45 PM on NH-316, near Samjajpur Over-Bridge, when armed assailants intercepted a vehicle transporting cash, gold, and silver from Radha Krushna Jewellery. The robbers escaped using a Skoda car and motorcycle.
Following the robbery, the Superintendent of Police, Puri, formed two Special Investigation Wings. Intensive raids across multiple hideouts led to the arrests between December 1–2, 2025.
Investigations revealed that Tukula Nayak, familiar with the victim’s operations, conspired with Bapi Pradhan, who recruited three criminals from Andhra Pradesh to execute the robbery. The stolen valuables were recovered from the arrested individuals, all of whom confessed to their roles in the crime.
Authorities are continuing to probe the case to identify any additional accomplices involved in the robbery.
