ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. — A Pensacola man is behind bars on drug-related charges after deputies say he fled from an attempted traffic stop on Sunday.

According to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, deputies attempted to stop a vehicle after the driver ran a stop sign near Olive Road and Deborah Drive in the Ensley area. The driver was identified as 21-year-old Prentice Laguan Lindsey.

Authorities said Lindsey refused to stop, led deputies onto Vickery Road, and then fled on foot into a nearby trailer park. Deputies quickly located and detained him following a brief chase.

A K-9 unit searched the vehicle and reportedly found 238 grams of marijuana, along with drug paraphernalia and cash.

Lindsey was arrested and charged with resisting without violence, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was booked into the Escambia County Jail before 3:30 p.m. Sunday. No bond has been set.

All individuals charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
