MT. VERNON, Ind. — A pregnant woman was arrested following a traffic stop in Mt. Vernon for driving under the influence and multiple drug offenses.
Police stopped 24-year-old Addyson Brown-Jones after noticing her vehicle had an expired license plate. During the stop, officers observed signs that she was under the influence of drugs.
An oral fluid test confirmed Brown-Jones had methamphetamine and amphetamines in her system. She claimed to have abstained from drugs due to her pregnancy but admitted to using benzodiazepines without a prescription.
A search of her vehicle revealed substances that tested positive for methamphetamine, fentanyl, THC vape cartridges, and various drug paraphernalia.
Brown-Jones was taken into custody and is currently held at Posey County Jail. She faces charges including possession of narcotics, methamphetamine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and driving while intoxicated.
