Mohali police arrested a youth, Prashant Kumar Jha, during a late-night patrol in Balongi as part of their ongoing anti-drug operations.
The suspect, who tried to hide upon seeing the police, aroused suspicion and was apprehended. During the search, authorities recovered 10.9 grams of heroin (chitta) from him.
Prashant Kumar Jha is originally from Bihat village, Begusarai district, Bihar, and currently resides at Street No. 8, Azad Nagar, Balongi. The police have confirmed that further investigations are underway to determine the source and network behind the narcotics.
