A 30-year-old man, Prashant Bhamre, was arrested within hours for allegedly stealing gold ornaments from his mother, Sunita Dagdu Bhamre (50), at her home in Bhadgaon, Latur district, Maharashtra, police said.
Sunita reported that an unidentified intruder had broken into her house on Monday and stolen her gold, including a necklace, six rings, and two earrings.
Authorities quickly launched an investigation using local intelligence, technical analysis, and verification of suspects. Their efforts pointed to Prashant, who was apprehended within three hours. During sustained questioning, he confessed to the theft.
Police recovered the stolen valuables from a cupboard in Prashant’s house and returned them to his mother.
