Steven Ring Faces Felony Charges in Louisiana Contractor Scam

by Sophia Bennett

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – Steven Ring, a 46-year-old man from Prairieville, has been arrested in connection with a contractor fraud case in Covington, Louisiana. The Louisiana State Police Criminal Investigation Division launched the case in December 2024, following allegations of financial misconduct.

According to authorities, Ring is accused of misappropriating funds intended for residential construction work. Instead of using the money for the agreed-upon project, he allegedly diverted it for his personal use. This has led to charges of theft and misapplication of payments, both of which are felonies.

Ring, who previously served as a soccer coach at a local high school, was arrested on February 21 and booked into Ascension Parish Jail. The school district confirmed that Ring is no longer employed there following the arrest.
