PRAIRIEVILLE, LA — Ascension Parish deputies arrested 31-year-old Alexander Zarlengo after he allegedly used a stolen wallet to gamble and make purchases in Baton Rouge.

The investigation began on February 6th when a victim reported that their wallet and other personal items had been stolen from their vehicle. Deputies discovered that the victim’s credit cards had been used at a casino and a gas station in Baton Rouge. Surveillance footage helped identify Zarlengo as the suspect.

Zarlengo was arrested on Friday when deputies found him in possession of another stolen wallet, along with personal items from a second vehicle burglary. He was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail and is facing charges related to the theft and fraudulent use of the stolen property.
