A 36-year-old man from Port Angeles has been arrested on felony burglary charges after stealing copper and other valuable materials from a local business.
The arrest stems from a report filed on Tuesday, March 25, by All Weather Heating and Cooling, located on Kemp Street. The company contacted the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office to report an unknown suspect had entered their fenced-in storage yard after hours, stealing copper, coils, and inner heat pumps worth approximately $500.
The suspect was captured on the company’s surveillance cameras, and it was believed that the theft was part of a series of similar incidents that had been occurring about once or twice a week over the past month.
During the investigation, Deputy Eagan learned from a local citizen that copper items had been found “stashed” at a nearby vacant lot close to the business. Most of the stolen materials from March 25 were recovered during this search.
Further investigation led Deputy Eagan to identify Adam D. Roberson as a person of interest. When questioned about the thefts on Thursday, Roberson admitted to the burglaries, leading to his arrest on charges of burglary and theft.
Roberson now faces felony charges related to the repeated thefts and is in custody awaiting further legal proceedings.
