The Film Nagar Police on Friday arrested Constable Sriramula Sharan Kumar (PC 13169) for allegedly misappropriating property during an official search operation. Authorities recovered an imitation Rolex wristwatch from his residence.
The incident occurred on November 25, during the investigation of an impersonation case involving Bathini Shashikanth. Officers conducting a search at Shashikanth’s residence discovered that Constable Sharan Kumar, who was assigned videography duties during the operation, allegedly took the watch without recording it on the seizure memo.
Video footage captured by another constable reportedly showed Sharan Kumar concealing the watch, violating official procedures for handling entrusted property.
Following internal verification, the Film Nagar Police registered a new case against him. Sharan Kumar, currently attached to the SHO’s mobile driver, was arrested and confessed during interrogation. The imitation Rolex watch was subsequently recovered.
