PITT COUNTY, N.C. – Three individuals were arrested Wednesday in Pitt County following traffic stops linked to suspected drug activity.
Deputies reported observing suspicious behavior near Stantonsburg Road and B’s Barbeque Road, prompting them to stop two vehicles.
In the first vehicle, officers detained James Taylor Jr., 33, of Fountain, while James Johnson Jr., 67, and Rakia Whitley, 35, both of Greenville, were in the second. Multiple drugs and drug paraphernalia were seized from both cars.
Taylor faces multiple charges, including two counts of trafficking cocaine, selling cocaine, possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana, maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for controlled substances, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is held on a $300,000 secured bond.
Johnson was charged with conspiracy, driving while license revoked-not impaired, and probation violation, with a $16,000 secured bond. Whitley faces possession of cocaine, conspiracy, possession of drug paraphernalia, and prostitution charges, with her bond set at $50,000.
The Pitt County Sheriff’s Office stated that the investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be forthcoming.
