ATLANTA, GA — Two suspects are in custody after being charged with stealing the Bentley Bentayga belonging to Slutty Vegan founder Pinky Cole Hayes during the grand opening of her new restaurant, Voagies, in May.
According to Atlanta police, the suspects—20-year-old Kindred Pierce and 21-year-old Albert Brown—are also linked to the theft of other luxury vehicles across the city and at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.
The incident occurred when restaurateur Derrick Hayes, Cole Hayes’ husband, left the Bentley running outside the new Voagies location, which occupies the former site of the original Slutty Vegan restaurant on Ralph David Abernathy Road. As he greeted attendees, he heard the SUV suddenly drive off.
According to police, three individuals approached on electric scooters, jumped into the running vehicle, and sped away. Although Hayes attempted to chase them in another car, he was unsuccessful.
“I swear this car is not good luck,” Cole Hayes commented in a video on social media after the incident. The Bentley was later found stripped and abandoned.
Investigators believe Pierce and Brown targeted high-end vehicles specifically for parts, a crime trend fueled in part by tariffs on imported foreign car parts.
“This case demonstrates the power of collaborative policing and our commitment to dismantling organized criminal networks that target Atlanta’s residents and visitors,” the Atlanta Police Department said in a statement.
