TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (CBS12) — The suspect in the April 17 mass shooting at Florida State University has been officially booked into jail after being released from the hospital.

Phoenix Ikner, 20, was taken to a regional detention facility on Monday and charged with two counts of first-degree murder and seven counts of attempted murder, according to the Tallahassee Police Department (TPD).

Ikner was shot by officers responding to the incident, which left two people dead and six others injured on the FSU campus. He remained hospitalized for several weeks, undergoing multiple surgeries before his transfer to the Leon County Jail. His booking photo has since been released to the public.

The Tallahassee Police Department confirmed that a probable cause affidavit outlining the charges and investigation details will be made public following Ikner’s initial court appearance.

This remains an ongoing investigation as authorities piece together the full timeline and motive behind the deadly attack.
