On Monday, Phalodi police arrested two men and seized 4.03 kg of MDMA along with 40 grams of opium, valued at over Rs 8 crore, during a joint search operation at the Shivpuri border.
Phalodi SP Kundan Kanwariya identified the accused as Deena Ram Bhadu, 31, and Sharavn Kumar Manju, 30. A tip-off from a district special team (DST) constable revealed that the duo was transporting drugs in a car. Acting on this information, a joint team from DST Phalodi and Lohawat police intercepted the vehicle and recovered the contraband. The car was also impounded.
Both men have been booked under the NDPS Act at Lohawat police station. SHO Matoda is leading the ongoing investigation. SP Kanwariya disclosed that Manju is a known member of the notorious 007 gang, with two previous cases of robbery and attempted murder registered in Lohawat and Matoda.
According to police, the accused were involved in drug trafficking driven by greed for quick money. They reportedly procured MDMA from Balotra for distribution in Lohawat and Phalodi. Preliminary investigations indicate links to a Mumbai-based cartel, with the seized consignment destined for distribution across Rajasthan and other states. Authorities are working to identify the suppliers connected to the accused.
