Peter Trottier Arrested After Stolen Truck Recovered in Bonnyville

Frog Lake man charged with theft, prohibited driving

BONNYVILLE, AB — A stolen truck was recovered and a Frog Lake man arrested following a coordinated RCMP response on July 3, south of Bonnyville.

According to an RCMP media release, the vehicle had been reported stolen earlier that day. Officers from Bonnyville RCMP, St. Paul / Vermilion Traffic Services, and Eastern Alberta District Police Dog Services located the truck near a residence in Kehewin, along Highway 41.

Four people were found inside the vehicle. After speaking with all occupants, RCMP identified the driver as 38-year-old Peter Trottier of Frog Lake.

Trottier was arrested and charged with:

Possession of stolen property over $5,000

Driving while prohibited

He was brought before a Justice of the Peace and released on bail. His next court appearance is scheduled for July 22.

The investigation remains ongoing.
