Peter Carter, Two Others Arrested in Hiawatha Drug, Child Case

Meth, marijuana, and child endangerment charges filed in raid

BROWN COUNTY, Kan. — A search warrant executed in Hiawatha on Wednesday, June 4 led to the arrest of three individuals on charges related to child endangerment and drug possession.

The Brown County Sheriff’s Office Drug Task Force, with assistance from Hiawatha Police, conducted the search at 714 Iowa Street at approximately 7:50 p.m.

Among those arrested was Peter Carter, 45, of Hiawatha, who was taken into custody on a $10,000 felony warrant for contempt of court. He also faces charges of aggravated child endangerment, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Also arrested was Patricia McKinney, 35, of Hiawatha. She faces multiple charges, including aggravated child endangerment, possession of meth, possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and felony obstruction.

Thomas Doyle, 65, of Hiawatha, was arrested on similar charges, including aggravated child endangerment, possession of meth, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Authorities have not released further details about the children involved, but all three suspects remain under investigation by county officials.
