A Florida gas station manager has been arrested for allegedly stealing thousands of dollars’ worth of lottery tickets over a two-month period.

The High Springs Police Department reported that 51-year-old Penny Cason stole more than $20,000 in lottery tickets from the Pure Gas station on U.S. Highway 27.

The store’s general manager contacted authorities and said he was coordinating with the Florida Lottery to determine the full extent of the losses.

Investigators said Cason admitted to both the general manager and officers that she had taken books of lottery tickets, though she could not specify the total value.

Cason is facing charges of grand theft totaling between $20,000 and $99,999.
