LEE COUNTY, Fla. — A 12-year-old boy was arrested Friday after being accused of committing two armed robberies in Lee County.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies responded on Dec. 12 to two separate incidents, both allegedly involving Pedro Luis.

The first incident occurred around 6:40 p.m. while a victim was walking from Schandler Hall Park to a friend’s house. Deputies said Luis emerged from bushes, brandished a knife, and demanded the victim’s shoes. The victim pushed Luis and ran, feeling a blow to their back, but Luis had fled by the time deputies arrived.

The second incident happened about six minutes later at Schandler Hall Park. While a victim was playing, Luis approached on a bike, threatened them with a knife, and demanded their backpack. The backpack contained items valued at over $400, including AirPods, cologne, a school-issued laptop, cash, and jeans.

Luis reportedly posted a photo of the stolen backpack on social media while covering his face, though the post was later deleted. Both victims positively identified Luis in a photo lineup.

On Friday, deputies arrested Luis at his home. He was transported to Lee County Jail for processing and is currently held under an immigration hold. Luis faces two counts of armed robbery.
