REASI, JAMMU & KASHMIR: In a major crackdown on narcotics, Reasi Police arrested a notorious drug peddler, Pawan Singh alias Pammi, near Tarakote in the Katra area. The operation led to the seizure of 21 grams of heroin and Rs30,800 in cash.
The accused, a resident of Serbad village, is a repeat offender with multiple cases against him. He has previously been detained under the PIT-NDPS Act, which allows preventive detention of habitual drug traffickers.
“This arrest highlights our continued commitment to a zero-tolerance policy against drug trafficking,” said a police official, urging the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activity.
Singh’s arrest is seen as a significant step in disrupting local drug networks operating in the Reasi district and surrounding areas. Authorities confirmed that further investigation is underway to trace his supply chain and associates.
