Pavel-Sebastian Andreica Jailed for Escaping Custody and Drugs Charges

A 21-year-old man, Pavel-Sebastian Andreica, has been sentenced to nearly two years in a young offender institution after escaping police custody and being found with weapons and drugs.

Andreica, who had no fixed address, was spotted acting suspiciously while riding an off-road motorbike on Montrose Street in Corby on October 19. When officers approached him, Andreica was found injured beside the bike, carrying a large knife, a canister of CS spray, and over £500 in cash. He was also disqualified from driving and uninsured.

Following his arrest, Andreica was taken to Kettering General Hospital for treatment. However, at around 03:30 GMT the following morning, he managed to escape from police custody on the hospital grounds. Despite his attempt to flee, he was quickly re-arrested nearby.

A mobile phone seized during his arrest revealed evidence of his involvement in the supply of Class B drugs.

Andreica pleaded guilty to multiple offenses, including escaping lawful custody, possession of a bladed article, and drug offenses at Northampton Crown Court. He was sentenced to one year and 10 months in a young offender institution.

Det Con Nichola Carroll commented, “I hope this result and our quick response on the night reassures our local communities.”
