Paula Johnson Arrested for Arson in Quincy Fire That Damaged Two Homes

QUINCY, IL (WGEM) — A 41-year-old Quincy woman has been arrested in connection with a house fire that broke out last month and damaged two properties.

According to the Quincy Police Department, Paula Johnson was taken into custody on Friday and charged with aggravated arson following the June 22 fire at 808 South 8th Street.

Police investigators ruled out accidental causes, noting the house had no utilities at the time and that storms were occurring. These factors, combined with the investigation, led them to suspect human involvement.

Authorities conducted multiple interviews, eventually leading to Johnson’s arrest. She is currently being held at the Adams County Jail and awaits a court appearance.

Officials added that Johnson is not suspected in any other fires reported around Quincy.
