PIERRE, S.D. — A South Dakota woman is facing up to 15 years in prison after being indicted for allegedly stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from her employer.

Paula Dockendorf, 45, was indicted by a Lincoln County Grand Jury on October 8 on one count of Grand Theft. Authorities say she allegedly stole between $100,000 and $500,000 from the business where she was employed, though the exact amount has not been confirmed.

The alleged theft occurred between December 1, 2023, and November 1, 2024. If convicted, Dockendorf could face the maximum sentence of 15 years in prison.

The case was investigated by the South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) and the Sioux Falls Police Department.

All parties are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
