WEATHERFORD, Texas — Paul Dillon Brown, 19, of Arlington, has been sentenced to life in prison after pleading guilty to possessing 947 fentanyl pills with intent to deliver, the Willow Park Police Department confirmed.
Judge Craig Towson of Parker County district court handed down the sentence on September 9. Brown, a documented member of the Get Bacc Gang, was first stopped by police on February 29, 2024, for speeding at 108 mph on Interstate 20. Officers found fentanyl pills in his pants pocket and vehicle trunk, along with two handguns, one reported stolen.
After being released on bail, Brown was later arrested again following undercover sales of fentanyl, as testified by Arlington Police detectives.
District Attorney Jeff Swain condemned the widespread impact of fentanyl, stating, “Our community has suffered too many fatal overdoses, and we are committed to a tough stance on these cases.” Swain praised Judge Towson for his alignment with this strict approach.
During the trial, Assistant District Attorneys Ryan Whyte and Mallory Vincent presented a music video showing Brown and gang members flaunting cash and firearms. Judge Towson emphasized, “The only way I can protect the public is to sentence you to life in prison.”
Brown’s Parker County sentence will run concurrently with a five-year sentence from Tarrant County for a separate fentanyl conviction. He must serve at least 30 years before being eligible for parole.
Vincent also warned parents about the dangers of social media, highlighting its role in facilitating drug sales and urging vigilance over children’s online activities.
