EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) — A registered serious violent felon in Evansville is facing new charges after a major drug and firearm bust, police said.
According to the Evansville Police Department, officers launched an investigation in May into alleged drug activity involving 54-year-old Patrick D. Rhodes. Over a four-month period, detectives used a confidential informant to purchase methamphetamine from Rhodes multiple times.
On Tuesday, officers arrested Rhodes in his backyard and executed a search warrant at his home on E. Blackford Avenue.
During the search, investigators found:
Nearly one pound of methamphetamine
98.9 grams of marijuana
Digital scales and sandwich bags
Five firearms, including one that was reported stolen
Rhodes was taken to the Vanderburgh County Jail, where he faces multiple felony charges, including:
Four counts of Manufacture/Dealing Methamphetamine
Five counts of Possession of a Firearm by a Serious Violent Felon
Dealing Marijuana
Maintaining a Common Nuisance
Court records show Rhodes has a criminal history, including convictions for Unlawful Imprisonment, Counterfeiting Altered Postal Money Orders, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and Dealing in Synthetic Drugs.
Rhodes remains in custody pending further court proceedings.
