Seattle, WA – A man has been arrested following a violent home invasion at rapper Macklemore’s residence, which led to a shocking discovery of stolen celebrity items in a pawn shop.
Patrick Maisonet, 29, was taken into custody after a two-month investigation by Seattle police. He is believed to be the primary suspect in a string of violent robberies involving high-profile individuals, including Macklemore and former NFL star Richard Sherman.
The June 7th robbery at Macklemore’s Capitol Hill home involved two masked intruders who bear-sprayed the nanny of the rapper’s three children. Despite being attacked, she managed to escape, biting one assailant and fleeing to a neighbor’s house to call 911.
Surveillance footage and witness statements helped lead authorities to Maisonet. Police later raided a pawn shop connected to the case, recovering jewelry, firearms, cash, and notable items such as a Seattle Sounders MLS Cup ring and a Seahawks Super Bowl ring allegedly belonging to Macklemore.
The pawn shop owner has also been booked for investigation of trafficking stolen property. Maisonet reportedly had an active arrest warrant for violating home detention in a separate 2023 robbery case.
During the break-in, the suspects demanded “jewels” and stole valuables including watches and luxury items. They also took the nanny’s phone before fleeing. No guns were seen, but the suspects wore tactical gear and gloves. Authorities later found discarded clothing and a bear spray can near the scene.
Macklemore was on tour in Europe at the time of the incident. His children were unharmed, and the nanny did not suffer serious injuries. The rapper’s $2.1 million Capitol Hill home, purchased in 2014, was confirmed as the crime scene through public records.
Detectives believe at least one additional suspect remains at large, and charges will soon be filed.
