Patricia Sierra, a 47-year-old woman from Las Vegas, faces charges of grand larceny, burglary, and disturbing human remains after allegedly breaking into a funeral home and stealing a casket containing a corpse.
The incident occurred on August 27, when officers from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department responded to a report of a body found face down outside Affordable Cremation & Burial Service on Charleston Boulevard. Surveillance footage captured a woman, later identified as Sierra, breaking the front window, entering the building, and removing the casket. Police later located Sierra, who reportedly claimed she “blacks out” due to substance abuse and did not recall the burglary.
Her bail is set at $11,000, with a preliminary hearing scheduled for September 18.
