Acting on a tip-off, Salimpur police arrested four individuals involved in a brutal murder and shooting incident in Shahpur village along NH-30 in Patna’s Barh on September 6.

The arrested accused — Laljit alias Lalji Yadav (35), his brother Shatrughan alias Rohan (37), Rohit Kumar alias Chipu (18), and Chandan Kumar alias Sukhla — all residents of Shahpur village, have been booked under sections of the BNS and Arms Act.

Patna Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kartikeya K Sharma stated that one Englesh Yadav was killed and four others injured when miscreants opened fire on them while returning from Jagdamba Sthan. During the raid, police recovered two country-made pistols and 26 live cartridges believed to be used in the crime. Earlier, another accused, Jwala Yadav, had been arrested and sent to jail.

In a separate operation, Ranitalab police arrested Mahesh Mochi alias Nathun late Wednesday night following a tip-off about illegal weapons concealed at his residence in Kab village, Patna. The raid, conducted under city SP (West) Bhanu Pratap Singh, resulted in the seizure of a country-made pistol, a single-shot 0.315 bore rifle, nine live cartridges, and three misfired rounds. A case has been registered against Mochi.

Investigations into both cases are ongoing.
