Patna police have arrested eight individuals involved in hawala transactions, cyberfraud, and illegal liquor trade, officials said.
On February 7, the Danapur police received information about a person being held captive at an apartment on Gola Road. Acting on orders from SP (West) Bhanu Pratap Singh, police raided the apartment and rescued the captive, Silana Gupta, son of Kedar Nath Gupta, a resident of Trimurti Nagar, Danapur. Eight others were also present in the flat.
Investigation Findings
Police interrogation revealed that the group was running a hawala network and an illegal liquor business. Gupta was allegedly held captive because the accused pressured him to execute a land agreement.
During the raid, authorities recovered:

All seized items were confiscated by the police.
Further investigation revealed that Anish Kumar, Rahul Kumar, and Gupta jointly operated a hawala network, luring local businessmen with promises of 30% profit. They also allegedly duped victims via cyberfraud. A separate FIR was registered at the cyber police station for the fraud. Additional cases were registered at Danapur police station and under the Bihar Excise Act for the illegal liquor trade.
