Pathanamthitta Police Arrest Jomon Mathew for Fraud in Sex Abuse Case

In a significant development, the Pathanamthitta police in Kerala, India, have arrested Jomon Mathew, a 28-year-old man, for allegedly defrauding aras8.65 lakh from Lilli George, the mother of an accused in the high-profile Chenneerkkara sex abuse case.

Jomon Mathew is the brother of Joji Mathew, the prime accused in the Chenneerkkara sex abuse case, where a minor girl was reportedly sexually abused by more than 60 individuals. According to the police, Jomon swindled Lilli George, the mother of the second accused, out of Rs8.65 lakh.

The details of how the fraud was carried out remain under investigation, but the arrest follows inquiries linking Jomon to the financial scam.
Authorities are continuing to probe Jomon’s role in the fraud, with further legal proceedings expected. This case is part of the larger investigation into the Chenneerkkara sex abuse case, which has shocked the nation due to the involvement of numerous individuals in the abuse of a minor.
