A parolee was arrested in Kings County after allegedly making “aggressive and sexually perverse” comments to two women, causing them to feel unsafe, according to the Kings County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to a report of criminal threats at the Kings County Government Center just before 7 p.m. on Wednesday. Upon arrival, they spoke to the two women near the Ag Commissioner’s Office parking lot. The women said they were approached by a man, later identified as 40-year-old Anthony Lee Maldonado, who made sexually charged and threatening remarks towards them.
The women, feeling threatened, attempted to enter their vehicles to leave the area. However, Maldonado allegedly persisted with his advances and continued making inappropriate comments. Fortunately, the women were able to secure themselves inside their cars, at which point Maldonado left the scene.
An extensive search of the area led deputies to Maldonado, who was found west of the Lacey Medical Complex. A records check revealed that Maldonado was on active parole for assault with a deadly weapon and was under the influence of a controlled substance at the time of the incident.
Maldonado was arrested on suspicion of felonious terroristic threats, and a parole hold was placed on him, meaning he is not eligible for bail.
