Paris, Illinois Couple Arrested for Stealing UTV Worth Over $10,000

Andrew Towell and Katelynn Bowman Arrested in Connection with Ashmore UTV Theft

A man and woman from Paris, Illinois, were arrested after allegedly stealing a side-by-side UTV worth over $10,000. The theft took place at a residence in Ashmore on November 26, 2024.

Arrests Made Following Investigation
The Coles County Sheriff’s Office launched an investigation into the theft of the UTV, which led to the arrests of Andrew Towell, 40, and Katelynn Bowman, 27, both of Paris. Towell was taken into custody and is awaiting a detention hearing, while Bowman was later released with a Notice to Appear.

Recovered UTV Returned to Owners
Thanks to coordinated efforts between the Coles County Sheriff’s Office, Charleston Police Department, and Paris Police Department, the stolen UTV was recovered in Edgar County. The vehicle has since been returned to its rightful owners.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities continue to work on gathering additional information related to the theft.
