Palluruthy Man Arrested for Human Trafficking Racket Involving Job Seekers

Ashraf lured job seekers to Bangkok and trafficked them to Laos for work at a Chinese company.

The Thoppumpady police have arrested a 34-year-old man named Ashraf from Palluruthy after a group of job seekers filed a complaint against him for falling victim to a human trafficking racket.

According to the police, Ashraf operated as an agent and lured job aspirants by offering them job opportunities abroad. He took the victims to Bangkok using the visa-on-arrival facility. From there, Ashraf trafficked them to Laos, where they were forced to work at a Chinese company, Ying Long.

The police are continuing their investigation, and further details about the trafficking network are expected to emerge.
