Palghar: In a significant drug bust, police in Maharashtra’s Palghar district seized nearly three kilograms of ganja from a local farmhouse, resulting in the arrest of two men from Gujarat.
Senior Inspector Ajay Gorad of Talasari Police Station stated that the raid was conducted on February 3 following a tip-off. The drugs were recovered from the Sambha Irani Farm within the Amgaon Chowki limits.
The accused have been identified as Mohammad Changez Haji Abdul Rauf Sheikh (36) and Atish Ganesh Kumare (28). Both are in police custody and have been charged under the NDPS Act.
Investigators are probing whether the duo is linked to a larger inter-state drug syndicate operating across the Maharashtra-Gujarat border. Police confirmed that further action will be taken based on leads from ongoing inquiries.
