The Mangaluru City Women’s Police have arrested two long-pending absconding accused (LPC) in separate cases, bringing long-awaited progress in investigations dating back over a decade.

In the first case, P. Damodhar, now approximately 40 years old, was arrested after being on the run for nearly 14 years. A warrant had been issued against him following his involvement in a 2011 immoral trafficking case (FIR No. 04/2011) registered at the Women’s Police Station.

The case originated from a March 14, 2011 raid at Dhanyavad Lodge, Hampankatte, Mangaluru, during which illegal activities were uncovered. While three accused were acquitted by the court, Damodhar absconded, leading the court to issue an LPC warrant.

After persistent efforts and a targeted operation led by PI Balakrishna, Damodhar was finally traced and taken into custody. He was produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody.

In the second case, Ubaidullah, now 46, a resident of Little Flower Apartment, Kankanady, was wanted in a 2018 dowry harassment and domestic violence case (FIR No. 54/2018). He had allegedly mentally and physically harassed his wife, sold her gold ornaments, and fled abroad, severing all contact.

On July 29, 2025, Mangaluru police acted on intelligence about his arrival from abroad and successfully arrested him at Kannur International Airport. He was later presented before the court.
