LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Nearly two years after the fatal shooting of 26-year-old Tabatha Tozzi, Las Vegas authorities have confirmed the arrest of her accused killer, Oswaldo “Nate” Perez-Sanchez, in Sonora, Mexico.

Tozzi was shot in the head on April 22, 2023, during an argument outside a residence near Alta Drive and Cimarron Road in west Las Vegas. According to police, Perez-Sanchez, then 32 and her boyfriend, confronted her during an attempt to break up and fatally shot her. He then carjacked a witness at gunpoint and fled the scene.

The case sparked an international manhunt, involving the FBI, U.S. Marshals, and a multi-agency task force, which had been pursuing Perez-Sanchez in Mexico. A $30,000 reward was offered by the FBI for information leading to his arrest.

Perez-Sanchez was finally captured on Tuesday in Sonora, Northern Mexico, during a separate investigation into another woman’s murder. At the time of his arrest, he was reportedly using the alias “Jorge N.”

Tabatha Tozzi, a popular figure in Las Vegas nightlife with a large social media following, was remembered by friends and family as vibrant and full of life. Her mother previously stated that Tozzi was in the process of leaving her abusive relationship with Perez-Sanchez when the murder occurred.

According to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, the moment a victim attempts to leave an abusive partner is often the most dangerous time.
