CHAMBERSBURG, PA — A 23-year-old man, Oscar Lopez-Marquez, has been charged with multiple offenses after allegedly attacking hospital staff during an incident at Chambersburg Hospital on June 29.
According to police, Lopez-Marquez was a patient at the time of the incident. Hospital security reported that he became physically aggressive, assaulting a nurse and two security officers.
Lopez-Marquez now faces:
Two counts of felony aggravated assault
One count of harassment
He was taken into custody and held on $75,000 bail.
Authorities have not released additional details on the condition of the injured staff. The investigation is ongoing, and officials have reiterated their commitment to protecting healthcare workers from violence.
