WASHINGTON — On June 12, 2025, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested Orlando Diaz-Cebada, a criminal illegal alien from Mexico wanted for the murder of a law enforcement officer in his home country.
Known by the nickname “El Leches,” Diaz-Cebada is a member of the Los Pochos gang, which traffics drugs for the Sinaloa Cartel, according to Mexican authorities. An arrest warrant was issued for Diaz-Cebada on April 23, 2024, for aggravated homicide after he allegedly beat and killed a government official.
Diaz-Cebada was previously deported twice by U.S. Border Patrol in May 2024 after illegally entering the country. Despite these removals, he re-entered the United States a third time without inspection or authorization. His subsequent arrest in Connecticut was a joint operation by ICE and the FBI.
Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin praised the law enforcement officers involved, emphasizing that the U.S. will continue to pursue violent criminals hiding within its borders. Diaz-Cebada remains in ICE custody pending removal proceedings.
