ORLAND PARK, Ill. — Orland Park police arrested 31-year-old Husamuldeen Abed last week in connection with a stolen vehicle investigation in the parking lot of Papa Joe’s.

On January 31, 2026, officers discovered the 2023 Rolls-Royce unoccupied and without license plates. A check of the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) confirmed it had been reported stolen from Fort Bend County, Texas, on January 24. Officers established surveillance while awaiting the driver’s return.

Abed later returned, used keys to unlock and enter the vehicle, and was taken into custody without incident. Witnesses confirmed Abed was the same person seen earlier in the day parking the Rolls-Royce.

During the investigation, police found Abed in possession of a stolen Illinois license plate registered to a 2006 Audi and hardware commonly used to affix plates. Further checks revealed the Rolls-Royce had been stolen while in transit from Texas to North Carolina.

Abed was charged with Aggravated Unlawful Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle (Class 1 Felony) and Possession of Stolen Property (Class A Misdemeanor).
