The Thane Crime Branch Anti-Extortion Cell has arrested a notorious history-sheeter, Omkar Bhosale (28), along with his associate Nilesh Yadav (31), for a brutal chopper attack just four days after Bhosale’s release from jail.
According to police, the incident took place on March 17 around 10 pm near Azad Nagar, Kolshet Road. Bhosale, already known for 44 criminal cases, allegedly confronted the victim over a past enmity. The encounter quickly escalated, with Bhosale wielding a chopper and assaulting the victim. Both he and his accomplice reportedly punched and beat the victim, causing serious injuries.
The audacity of the attack has raised alarm in law enforcement circles, highlighting concerns that Bhosale resumed criminal activities almost immediately after being released.
A team led by Assistant Police Inspector Bhushan Kapadnis traced the accused to their residences on March 19, following which they were handed over to Kapurbawdi Police Station. Authorities are continuing their investigation to uncover the broader criminal network of the accused and connections to previous offenses.
