Khari Coleman, a key player for the Ole Miss football team, was arrested on Thursday on indecent exposure charges following two separate incidents that took place on January 2, the same day the team played in the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl in Jacksonville.
The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office reported that Coleman, 23, from Oxford, Mississippi, was charged with two felony counts of exposure of sexual organs after he allegedly exposed himself to female housekeeping employees at the Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort & Spa in Ponte Vedra, where the team was staying. Deputies responded to the hotel after reports of the incidents.
The investigation revealed that Coleman had been involved in two separate exposure incidents that occurred on the same day. It was also discovered that Coleman had been arrested in 2023 for a similar indecent exposure incident in Mississippi involving five victims.
After gathering additional evidence and consulting with prosecutors, a nationwide pickup arrest warrant was issued. Authorities in Mississippi located Coleman, who was wearing an Ole Miss shirt when arrested, with the help of the Oxford Police Department.
At the time of his arrest, Coleman had just played in the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl, where he was the second-leading tackler for Ole Miss with five tackles in the team’s 52-20 victory over Duke. Over his three-season career at Ole Miss, Coleman played in 37 games and recorded 45 tackles and one forced fumble during his senior year. He originally signed with Texas Christian University (TCU), where he earned Freshman All-American honors in 2020, before transferring to Ole Miss.
In 2023, Coleman earned All-SEC honorable mention recognition and was named to the preseason watch list for the Butkus Award as one of the nation’s top linebackers.
