SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Detectives have arrested a man in connection with a deadly shooting that occurred late Tuesday afternoon in South Sacramento.

According to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to reports of gunfire around 4:30 p.m. near 39th Street and Mascot Avenue. Upon arrival, they found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Investigators say the incident stemmed from an argument between the victim and the suspect, 51-year-old Okouava Saelee. During the altercation, Saelee allegedly returned to his vehicle, retrieved a firearm, and shot the victim several times.
