SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Detectives have arrested a man in connection with a deadly shooting that occurred late Tuesday afternoon in South Sacramento.
According to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to reports of gunfire around 4:30 p.m. near 39th Street and Mascot Avenue. Upon arrival, they found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Investigators say the incident stemmed from an argument between the victim and the suspect, 51-year-old Okouava Saelee. During the altercation, Saelee allegedly returned to his vehicle, retrieved a firearm, and shot the victim several times.
Saelee was located and arrested in the Sacramento area on Wednesday. He has since been booked into the Sacramento County Jail and is being held without bail.
The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have not yet released the name of the victim.
