Meika Bell, a member of the Philadelphia Police Department 9th District, was arrested in Radnor for allegedly stealing merchandise worth $55 from a TJ Maxx store.
Authorities said the incident occurred over the weekend, with Bell fleeing from store security on Lancaster Avenue. She was charged with two counts of summary retail theft.
Bell was released on her own recognizance while the Philadelphia Police Department’s Internal Affairs unit reviews the matter. The department declined further comment on the case.
