A 26-year-old Odessa man, Holten Cole Parker, is facing multiple drug charges after a sheriff’s deputy stopped him for performing a burnout early Saturday morning. Parker, who was on parole for a prior drug case, caught the attention of a deputy near West 42nd Street and North Knox shortly before 5 a.m.
During the traffic stop, the deputy discovered four bottles of Xanax on the driver’s side floorboard. After learning from dispatchers that Parker had an active warrant for parole violation, a search of Parker and his Ford F150 revealed significant amounts of illegal substances. Authorities found 82 grams of fentanyl powder, 16 grams of methamphetamine, and 120 Xanax pills (equivalent to 32 grams).
Parker was arrested on the active parole violation warrant and charged with two counts of manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance, along with possession of a controlled substance. His bail for the drug charges was set at $175,000.
