A horrifying crime shook Noida’s Sector 15 area on Friday, as a 55-year-old man allegedly murdered his wife with a hammer, suspecting her of infidelity. The accused, Nurullah Haider, was arrested shortly after their son alerted the police.
According to authorities, Haider struck his wife, 42-year-old Asma Khan, on the head during a heated argument. The blow proved fatal, and she died at the scene.
Haider, who is currently unemployed, holds an engineering degree and is originally from Bihar. His wife Asma, a software engineer, was working for a private company in Noida’s Sector 62. A graduate of Jamia Millia Islamia University, she previously lived in Delhi before relocating to Noida.
Married since 2005, the couple shared two children — a son studying engineering and a daughter in Class 8. The son made the emergency call to 112, prompting a swift response from police and forensic experts.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Rambadan Singh confirmed Haider’s arrest and stated, “We have taken the accused into custody and initiated an investigation. The forensic team has collected evidence from the scene.”
Family members revealed that the couple often had disputes, though no one expected them to escalate to violence. “Their daughter called me. They had been arguing for days, but this was unimaginable,” said the victim’s brother-in-law.
The investigation is ongoing as officials delve into the history of domestic conflict and examine other possible evidence.
