Nursing Students Booked in Mangaluru Cannabis Case

Azil Nazi and Four Others Caught Consuming Drugs

The Urwa Police in Mangaluru city have booked five nursing students from Kerala for allegedly consuming cannabis in a public area near Malaraya Daivasthana.

The accused have been identified as: Azil Nazi (21), Sajil Abdul Samad (21), Abu Thomas (23), Melson Tellis (19), and Ashwin Saji (20).

Police stated that the students were found consuming cannabis openly, violating provisions under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The case has been registered, and investigations are ongoing to determine if there are any further violations.

Authorities also cautioned against public consumption of banned substances, emphasizing awareness campaigns aimed at youth and students.
