n a major breakthrough in the Padubidri house theft case reported on June 22, police have arrested another key suspect—Noushad B A (38), a habitual offender with a criminal trail stretching across Karnataka and Kerala.
A resident of Bannur, Puttur taluk in Dakshina Kannada, Noushad was apprehended by Padubidri police on August 22 in Mangaluru. Upon questioning, police recovered gold ornaments worth Rs80,000 and Rs32,000 in cash, believed to be part of the stolen goods.
The theft occurred at the residence of Ganesh Prasad Shetty near Kamat Petrol Pump in Padabettu, Padubidri, where burglars had decamped with Rs1.45 lakh worth of valuables. A case had been filed at the Padubidri police station.

Authorities had recovered Rs24,000 in cash and the vehicle used in the burglary. With Noushad’s arrest, the total recovery now stands at 8 grams of gold and Rs56,000 in cash.
