The Tanda police arrested notorious inter-state burglar Bharat Bhil and his two accomplices, Suresh and Ritesh Bhil, on Thursday night. Bharat, known for his involvement in over 70 burglaries across multiple states, had been a prime target for law enforcement agencies nationwide.
In a joint effort, police from 10 states had been actively pursuing Bharat, who, along with his accomplices, frequently moved across state borders to evade capture. The gang is believed to have committed thefts in Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu, using the dense forests of Bagoli village as a hideout.
During questioning, Bharat confessed to his involvement in around 70 burglaries and is wanted in 23 more cases across various states. The breakthrough came Thursday night when a tip-off led the police to his hiding spot in the forest.
The authorities seized illegal weapons, including a 12-bore gun, and a stolen motorcycle from the suspects. Charges under the Arms Act were filed against all three individuals. SP Manoj Kumar Singh praised Inspector Kamlesh Singar for successfully leading the operation and emphasized the police’s continued dedication to ensuring public safety.
