LELAND, N.C. — A Leland man has been arrested on numerous drug trafficking charges following reports from residents, according to the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO).

Authorities said Norman Jamar Dixon was taken into custody on Wednesday, Jan. 7, without incident while serving outstanding felony warrants.

The arrest followed tips from residents in the SeaBrooke community, who identified Dixon as a suspected drug supplier, officials said.

During the arrest, investigators seized approximately 3.5 ounces of cocaine.

Dixon now faces 24 charges in Brunswick County, including 14 counts of trafficking in cocaine and five counts of possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver cocaine. He is also charged with maintaining a vehicle, dwelling, or place for controlled substances, as well as possession of drug paraphernalia.

In a separate case, the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office charged Dixon with possession of a firearm by a felon.

Dixon is being held without bond at the Brunswick County Detention Facility.
