The Noida Cybercrime Police recently arrested Achal Verma, who is accused of orchestrating a large-scale online investment scam that defrauded a woman of Rs78 lakh.
The victim was contacted through WhatsApp, where she was enticed into an online investment scheme. She was promised massive returns for completing various online tasks. Unfortunately, the victim transferred Rs78 lakh to multiple accounts linked to Verma.
Following a tip-off, Noida police swiftly tracked down Achal Verma, who was apprehended from Hoshiarpur village in Sector 52 on Friday night. The investigation revealed that Verma used false promises to systematically defraud the victim.
