Noah Kirson Arrested for Fatal Hit-and-Run in Vermont

Florida driver charged with negligent operation causing death

FAYSTON, VT — A 74-year-old man was tragically killed Saturday afternoon when he was struck by a vehicle on Mansfield Road near the Stark Mountain View Road intersection. The driver, 19-year-old Noah Kirson from Winter Park, Florida, was arrested and charged with a felony.

According to Vermont State Police, the crash occurred at approximately 1:19 p.m. on July 5. Kirson was driving a 2014 Toyota FJ Cruiser heading toward VT Route 17 when his vehicle left the roadway and struck pedestrian Thomas Studley of Fayston. Studley was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police reported that Kirson was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash but was uninjured. He was taken into custody immediately and transported to the Berlin Barracks for processing. Kirson faces a felony charge of Grossly Negligent Operation with Death Resulting under Vermont law. He was held at the Northeast Regional Correctional Facility on $10,000 bail.

Weather and road conditions were clear and dry at the time of the accident, and the investigation is ongoing.
