Mumbai Police arrested father-son duo Niyamatullah Khan alias Julie (38) and Shahid (19) within 12 hours of a burglary at Royal Palms Estate, Aarey Colony, Goregaon East.
The suspects were found with gold, silver, diamond ornaments, and brass idols valued at Rs 47.65 lakh stolen from Bungalow No. 31.
The theft was reported by Gangarajam Wutnuri (59), who said unknown individuals broke a glass window and stole valuables, including ornaments and old utensils.
Senior police inspector Ravindra Patil, along with PI Mangesh Andhare and SI Sachin Panchal, led the investigation. Reviewing footage from 35 CCTV cameras, they identified the father-son duo, who are now in police custody.
Authorities continue to investigate the case to trace any accomplices and recover further stolen items.
